MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a popular minimally-invasive skincare treatment designed to rejuvenate the skin. It involves the use of a device with tiny, fine needles that create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These tiny punctures stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, promoting the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining a youthful, smooth, and firm complexion.
Microneedling works by creating tiny, controlled punctures in the skin using a specialized device equipped with fine, sterilized needles. These micro-injuries stimulate your skin’s healing process, triggering the production of collagen and elastin. As the skin repairs itself, new, fresh skin cells are formed, leading to improved skin texture, firmness, and elasticity over time.
For optimal comfort, a topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure, so you feel minimal discomfort.
MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS GUIDE & FAQS
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH MICROONEEDLING ? Face: Treats concerns like acne scars, fine lines, and overall skin texture. Neck & Décolletage: Helps rejuvenate and improve skin elasticity in the delicate neck and chest area. Hands: Smoothes the skin on the hands, reducing age spots and improving texture. Stretch Marks & Scarring: Can be used to improve the appearance of stretch marks and other scarring on various parts of the body.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT? A typical microneedling session lasts between 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. After the procedure, the skin may appear slightly red or flushed, similar to a mild sunburn, but this usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days. Results typically begin to show within 2-3 weeks as the body starts to produce new collagen, with continued improvement over the next few months.
WHEN SHOULD I SEE RESULTS FROM TREATMENT? Microneedling works by stimulating your body’s production of collagen and elastin. This isn’t an overnight process as it takes time for new collagen to form, new skin cells to generate and for the blood supply to the area to improve. This means it can take up to six weeks after your treatment before you see visible signs of regeneration and repair. Within the first two weeks, your skin will begin to look brighter and more vibrant. By six weeks, it will be tighter and areas of pigmentation, scarring, lines and wrinkles should all be visibly reduced. The natural regeneration process will continue over several months, so the condition of your skin should continue to improve.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED? For the best results, we recommend three Microneedling treatments scheduled a minimum of six to eight weeks apart. If we are treating stretch marks or acne scarring, you may need up to 5-6 treatments.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST? Many people choose to have a follow-up treatment six to nine months after the initial course is complete to maintain the results.
WHO IS MICRONEEDLING SUITABLE FOR? Microneedling is suitable for most people, regardless of skin type or color. It is particularly effective for individuals looking to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin texture. However, microneedling may not be recommended for people with certain skin conditions like active eczema, rosacea, or active acne.
MICRONEEDLING AFTERCARE After your microneedling treatment, it is important to: Avoid direct sun exposure and apply sunscreen regularly. Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Hydrate and use gentle skincare products to keep the skin calm and moisturized.
