JAWLINE SLIMMING The masseter muscle is located at the angle of the jaw and can sometimes make the jaw look square or masculinised. Botulinum toxin can be injected into the masseter to slim the jaw making the jaw look narrower and more feminine.
GUMMY SMILE When some people smile, they find their top lip lifts significantly, revealing a large proportion of their gums. This is often referred to as a Gummy smile and can sometimes leave people feeling self-conscious when they should be feeling their best. The aesthetic ideal is for the top lip to sit just above the teeth when smiling. Individuals who show a lot of gum often have hyperactive levator muscles which lift the top lip high. In these individuals, injecting botulinum toxin can to relax the levator muscles, resulting in less upward movement of the top lip and less gum being visible.
TEETH GRINDING / BRUXISM The masseter muscle is the strong muscle located at the angle of the jaw and is responsible for clenching the teeth and chewing. In some individuals, this muscle is very active and enlarged. This can often lead to the medical condition known as bruxism where the teeth frequently grind together leading to the clicking of the jaw, tenderness at the front of the ears (at the TMJ) and terrible headaches. Injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter muscle quickly causes the muscle to relax, significantly reducing teeth grinding. Masseter injections are a simple and effective way of significantly improving the symptoms of bruxism
HYPERHIDROSIS Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterised by excessive sweating. It typically affects the armpits, palms, soles, forehead and back of the neck. The sweat might show through your shirt or cause your hands to continuously be clammy. This can lead to embarrassment and anxiety which often causes more sweating and the onset of a negative cycle. Botulinum toxin is a simple, effective and long-lasting solution, injected intradermally to target the sweat glands. It then works by blocking the signal from the nerve to the sweat gland which would normally trigger sweating.
